I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1984: a Pisces daughter of a Pisces mother and a Pisces father. After living several fascinating elsewheres, I now live north of Indy in an equally fascinating A-Frame-built-onto-a-barn house with my charming and talented (Pisces) husband, M, and our hilarious young daughters, S & V.
I have published several chapbooks and a full-length collection of poetry. My work has been awarded the Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship, twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and has appeared in numerous journals over the past decade. For the past 9+ years, I have also held a full-time career in Supply Chain Logistics and currently work in Product Management as a Business Analyst. There’s more overlap than one might think between writing user stories and writing story-stories.
Outside of work, I can be found on a poppy, 10.5-minute-pace jog in my small town, on my Expedia app pricing flight+hotel bundles to Europe, assuring myself that wine has no calories in it, looking for my car keys, purchasing charcuterie ingredients, listening to foreign language radio stations, drinking my fifth cup of black coffee (unless it’s pumpkin spice creamer season), peeping music festival lineups, adding original series to my Netflix and Amazon watch lists (pretending I’ll someday watch these shows), supporting local restaurants, avoiding mountains of clean but unfolded laundry, contributing to the Hard Seltzer Boom, teaching yoga, running my children to birthday parties, dance class, or cheer practice, re-reading Nabokov, or out enjoying the weather, which is always newsworthy in Indiana.
